KONI SPORTS

The Koni Sport shock absorber is the ideal solution for those looking for maximum performance. The Koni Sport, yellow in colour, are adjustable, many codes also externally thanks to a special knob (in this case, it is not necessary to dismantle the shock absorber to adjust it).

The greatest advantages of this line are:

  • Maximum road holding
  • Control and reduce car roll and pitch
  • Increased grip on the road, improving the performance of the braking system and steering precision.
  • Longer suspension duration than the original
  • Can be combined with both original springs and trim springs.

Being adjustable, the Koni Sport are supplied at the minimum calibration, a value in itself higher than that of the original shock absorber. (SPORTS MIN in the graph). Through the adjustment, it is possible to push the calibration up to the SPORT MAX value.

The graph compares the damping of the shock absorber in relation to the operating speed, both in extension (upper part of the graph) and in compression (lower part of the graph). When a car accelerates, brakes or leans sideways, the operating speed of the shock absorber (Piston Velocity) is on the left side, closer to 0; the more irregular and uneven the terrain is, the further you are from 0 (right side of the graph).

The Koni Sport are calibrated to obtain ideal damping depending on the position in the graph, always obtaining maximum road holding compatible with the comfort of the car. By tuning the KONI damper you get a uniform increase in damping across all speeds. We recommend proceeding with the adjustment in small steps (half turns) and equally on both the right and left.

KONI STR.T

The Koni STR.T are fixed calibration sports shock absorbers. Koni guarantees the best compromise between performance and price: their sporting vocation combined with an extremely competitive price makes them the ideal solution for a first car upgrade.

The graph compares the damping of the shock absorber in relation to the operating speed, both in extension (upper part of the graph) and in compression (lower part of the graph). The red line highlights the comparison between Koni STR.T and the original shock absorber (green line): the calibration is always superior in both rebound and compression.

Koni STR.T has as its strengths:

  • Excellent value for money.
  • Excellent road holding and steering precision.
  • Custom designed: perfect match between shock absorber and specifications of each vehicle.
  • Can be combined with both original springs and trim springs.

KONI SPECIAL ACTIVE

The Special Active shock absorber is the latest innovation introduced by Koni, and is the new generation of Koni shock absorbers capable of obtaining the best result in terms of balance between performance and comfort. Using the Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) system, the shock absorber is able to automatically and mechanically adapt to road conditions: stiff on flat ground, soft on uneven terrain, in a much more marked and evident manner than the 'original.

The graph, which compares the damping of the shock absorber with respect to the operating speed, clearly highlights how the Special Active works: the calibration is extremely rigid on flat roads (motorways and state roads, for example), where the frequency is 1 Hz; however, when the frequency reaches 10 Hz (rough roads, or on cobblestones), the calibration is lowered, significantly improving the comfort of the car, going beyond the original level.

Special Active has several strengths to be discovered:

  • Ideal balance between vehicle calibration and comfort.
  • Use of Koni's innovative frequency-selective damping system.
  • Wide range of codes for both modern cars and youngtimers.
  • Technology that replaces the much more expensive electronic suspension systems.
  • Significant improvement in safety, grip and braking effectiveness.

KONI COIL-OVER

The threaded kit par excellence designed by Koni: the Coil-Over Kit combines maximum calibration with the possibility of adjusting the suspension height thanks to the variable pitch springs.

The main features are:

  • Significant improvement in the stability and handling of the car.
  • Improved road holding and braking.
  • Shock absorbers with adjustable calibration and equipped with a variable spring ring in position to lower the average height of the car.
  • The kit is complete: shock absorbers, springs, mounting components.

The new evolution produced by Koni: the TrackDay kit, derived from the experience in F1 also applied in GP2, GP3 and Formula 3, is a technologically advanced product. The threaded ring shock absorber features a monotube with an upside-down layout.

Thanks to the ring nut and the spring it is possible to adjust the height of the car starting from +10 mm and reaching -50 mm. The pistons are oversized and inside the system there are two valves that allow adjustment in both rebound and compression with 8 positions each for a total of 64 different combinations.

This peculiarity makes it possible to use the Koni TrackDay kit both on the road and on the track, obtaining performance capable of satisfying the most demanding driver. The kit includes the connecting arm to the stabilizer bar and, above all, the top mount for camber adjustment.
